Do you have this fabric? Cosmo Cricket by Moda

Do you have this fabric in your stash?  It's "Circa 1934 Cosmo Cricket" by Moda from several years ago.

One of our customers needs 1/2 yard of it to finish a project.

If you have this print and would be willing to help out a fellow quilter, please let me know.

Show and Tell; 145 Soldiers, 145 quilts, Secret Siblings; Farm Girl Vintage club

Sue W. brought in this double handed potholder she recently made.  She works in a school cafeteria and needed a bigger potholder for handling large pots out of the oven.

I think Sue said she made the pattern up using the measurements of the pots she was using.

How inventive!  Thanks, Sue for sharing your invention with us!

Lynn brought in this place mat she made recently finished.  We love the Dresden Plate motif and all the different colors.

Aimee P. brought in her finished "Bow Tucks Tote" bag she made during one of our recent classes.

Thanks, Aimee for letting us see the finished project!

Last Saturday's "Coffee and Quiche" class resulted in some gorgeous pie plate holders made by Dorothy and Sharon.

Rosemary will be teaching this class again in 2016 so, stay tuned.

We were honored to participate in the presentation of quilts to the 276th Engineering Company in Pierce City, MO. last Sunday, December 6th.

This company of 145 soldiers were deployed to Afghanistan and returned home last December (2014).

December 6th was "family day" at the armory; husbands, wives, children and parents were in attendance to fellowship and eat together.

No one knew we were presenting the soldiers with quilts until the announcement was made.

What a wonderful feeling to hand a complete stranger a quilt and thank them for their service to our country.

We heard lots of stories about quilts made by grandmothers and their favorite blankets as children.

"Thanks" to Sweetness, Sharon, Dorothy and Lee for representing the shop during the presentation.

"Thank You" to Tanya P. for organizing everything and to everyone who made a quilt (it took more than a year to get all the quilts made).

Needless to say, the soldiers were very happy with their quilts.

Karen M. shared a wonderful English Paper Piecing book with me during the quilt retreat in October.

I immediately ordered "All Points Patchwork" but, it was out of stock, back ordered until eternity!

I was thrilled when the big brown truck left a box full of them on Friday.

This is a great book full of nifty English Paper Piecing patterns.

We also received the latest issue of Fons and Porter's "Quilting Quickly".

"Secret Siblings" have been busy this month. Pat, Cathy and Dorthy each received gifts from their 'sibling':
the teapot set Pat received from her 'secret sibling"

Cathy received this Christmas towel from her 'sibling'

and notepad that says "All you need is Love and Christmas cookies"

Dorothy received this ornament from her 'secret sibling"

The "Farm Girl Vintage" club meets the second Saturdays of the month.  We make a block each month from this wonderful book.

We also offer a block exchange for those who make an extra block each month.

Dorothy, Pat, Lynn and Sharon are holding the blocks they each received in yesterday's exchange.

Cathy decided to make both sizes (6" and 12") of the
"Farm Girl" blocks we've made so far (n
o one said it but, we were all thinking "overachiever").

I had to get a picture of her blocks while she was here yesterday.

Thanks, Cathy for sharing with us.  We love your blocks!

Sheila has been very busy making Christmas gifts. She also brought in a project her daughter completed for a school assignment.

Thanks, Sheila for sharing your embroidery projects with us.  We know they'll make great Christmas gifts.
