We received more Row by Row fabrics this week. YIPPEE!!  This year's theme is H20....water!  Our row is completed and posted on the blog and Facebook.  

Row by Row starts June 21st and we can't wait! 

We received these 108" backings called "American Dreams" by Henry Glass Studios last week.  

We also have these prints in 44/45" wide on the bolt for your next patriotic project or Quilt of Valor.  

We have more colors of "1892 Mill Book" prints by Howard Marcus on the bolt.  

All profits from this collection are donated to charity each year.  This year's charity is the Texas Quilt Museum.

Holly Taylor's "Lady Slipper Lodge" collection has been super popular in the shop. I've re-ordered something from this collection each week since it arrived.

Kayla needed borders for a quilt she's making for her aunt.  After pouring over the sample cards we have, she decided on a Moda Marble called "Robin's Egg" and a Bella Solid named "Terrain Green".  Thank goodness they came in this week! 

We look forward to seeing the quilt after Kayla gets the borders on.

Two bolts of "Crossroads" by Moda also arrived this week.  I really like these prints.  We don't have any plans for it.  It's not going into a particular project. I saw it, I liked it so, I ordered it.

Our "Secret Sisters" have been very active this past month.  It's a lot of fun watching the 'sister's and the 'sistees" (is that a word?) each month.  

I've really behind posting pictures so, we have some April and May pictures of 'sisters' and their gifts:

We love it when folks bring in their stuff for "Show and Tell".  I'm not sure which we love more, what they're bringing in or the stories behind the article. 

Ruth brought in these two pieces she made using part of her mother's wedding dress (1948) and part of her dad's green wool Army shirt.  

The silk background was brought back from Singapore by Ruth's husband in early 1970.  

Ruth placed one in a shadow box, the other piece will be made into one very soon!

Judi recently brought in these four panels she finished.

Pat gave her the four embroidered middle pieces and Judi added the borders and backing to make small wall hangings.  How cute are these?

Janet brought in these three wall hangings she made using the patterns from our shop hop in May.  Wow! We love these.  

Janet said she had to make one for each of her kid so no one would feel left out!

We love four legged kids.  Hugo and his humans stopped by a couple of weeks ago.

It's official.  Our row for "Row by Row" went on display in the shop today.  Thanks, Sharon for designing a great row!  

A sandy beach, big umbrellas and a sailboat bobbing in the ocean are what came to mind when we found out this year's theme was water.   

  

Our "Stash Hugger" license plates also went on display in the shop today.  

"Row by Row" starts on Sunday, June 21st (Father's Day).  Since we're only open on Saturdays (and 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays) we'll start handing out our free row pattern on Wednesday, June 24th. 

Lady Slipper Lodge; Mill Book 1892; Secret Sisters and four weeks of "Show and Tell"!

I'm still getting caught up posting stuff to the blog. I've fallen seriously behind but, I think I can see light at the end of the tunnel! 

We received four more bolts of "Lady Slipper Lodge" last week.  We now have 29 bolts of this line with more prints coming soon.

The big brown truck left several boxes last week. Inside two of them were more prints of "Mill Book circa 1892" by Howard Marcus.  

The profits from this collection will be donated to the Texas Quilt Museum.

Sharon saw these patterns and fell in love with them. They're called "Caddy Pads".  They unfold to become your own personal ironing pad.  

These would be great for traveling, taking a class or going to a retreat.  The heat resistant fabric is included so, decide which fabric to use for the outside and you're almost done!  

We have these patterns in two sizes:  junior and regular.  

We love it when customers bring their projects for Show and Tell.

We received five prints of "Spring Flowers" by Kaye England for Wilmington.  The dainty little flowers are so precious.  Perfect for the next 1930's project!  

We're expecting more of this collection next week! YIPPEE!! I can't wait!

The tone-on-tone section of the shop was beginng to look a little bare.  Thank goodness we received these ten bolts of ecru tone-to-tones by Quilting Treasures.  

My camera can't capture the prints very well so, I decided to take a group picture instead!

We sold out of several Bella Solids layer cakes during the shop hop but never fear! We now have 'white' and 'natural' layer cakes in stock!  

We also have the charm packs and jelly rolls of these colors in stock.

We've received more than 70 bolts of new fabric the past three weeks so, we've been re-arranging the shop to make room for everything!  

As a result, the Oliso and Steamfast irons are now together with some of the new pre-cuts we've received this month. 

If you can't find something the next time you're here, just ask.  We'll try to figure out where we put it!

Howard Marcus (Mark Dunn, owner of Moda Fabrics) has done it again.  His latest collection is called "Mill Book Series circa 1892". 

Each year he designs a fabric collection based on vintage fabrics and donates all the profits to charity.  

This collection is based on textile prints kept in sample books by different mills from the late 1800's. 

The profits from this collection will be donated to The Texas Quilt Museum.  I love it when a bajillonaire gives back in a big way.

Making tote bags have been very popular this season.  We have lots and lots of tote patterns but didn't have all the 'inards' for making the bags.  

That's no longer the situation!  We now have Fusible Fleece, Craft Fuse and Pellon single sided fusibles on stock.   

If you have one of the "Pink Sand Beach Designs" tote patterns, we now have everything you need to make it!

Vickie B. did a great job designing our Mystery Quilt. She dropped off the clues and a sample of the quilt yesterday.  I have to say, the quilt is stunning.  

The first clue for our Mystery Quilt will be available on Saturday, June 6th.  You'll receive one clue each month for six months.  Clues are $2 each but, if you purchase the fabric from our shop, the clue will be free. 

Vickie recommended using a "Tri Recs Ruler" for one of the clues so, we now have them in stock!  

Robin B. made this sign for the shop and presented it to me for my big 5-0 birthday.  Wow!  

Sweetness hung it up on the wall by the cash register in the shop.

Summer Breeze, Lady Slipper Lodge, Quilting Quickly, Block Magazine and Wonky Log Cabin blocks

With everything that's been going on the past couple of weeks, I've fallen behind posting pics to the blog.  

Sweetness and I are still recovering from the stellar birthday party (and shop hop) last Saturday but, we found time to take pictures of the new stuff that's arrived the past couple of weeks. 

First to arrive were 25 bolts of "Summer Breeze" prints.  This collection is by Sentimental Studios for Moda.  

We have a few of the pre-cuts available but, Moda is re-printing them for delivery in July.  YIPPEE!!!  

This collection has been very popular and is going fast!  

Twenty five bolts of "Lady Slipper Lodge" prints arrived on Thursday. This collection is by Holly Taylor for Moda and includes three panels on different colorways.  Yummy!  

We have all the pre-cuts for this line (layer cakes, jelly rolls, charm packs and mini-charms) but, they too are going fast.

Sharon received these "Dresden Plate" English Paper Piecing papers for her 60th birthday (May 7th) at her surprise birthday party Wednesday.   

When the party was over, she went home and started making Dresden Plates using Lady Slipper Lodge prints.  

We can't wait to see the finished project!
