Nativity Scene; our shop hop winner; this week's new stuff

Lee Jones dropped off this nativity scene he recently finished.  We're selling these for Lee during the holiday season for $75 each.

These would make a great gift for "he/she who has everything" person in your life.

Each nativity scene completely collapses for easy storage.

Phyllis Clark of Springfield was our shop hop gift certificate winner.  She stopped by yesterday to spend some of her winnings!

Congratulations, Phyllis!  We hope you enjoy your stuff!
Phyllis Clark's shopping spree!

The big brown truck was here several times this week.  We received some really nifty stuff and can't wait to share it with you!

This "Cookout Quilt" pattern from Quilt Soup Pattern Co. is beyond adorable.

With that said, we also received three companion prints of "Quilt Camp" by Henry Glass Studios.

How cute would these be using the pattern pictured above?

Our order of "Hop, Skip and a Jump" by American Jane is finally here.  If you're a 1930's fan, you'll love these prints.

We also received the layer cakes, charm packs, jelly rolls, mini charms and fat quarter bundles of this adorable collection.

All of us have a mountain of scraps.  This week's new book will help reduce the mountain!  I promise.

"Scraps Plus One" has 20 different projects designed specifically for scraps:  pillows, totes, quilts and much more.

If you're as addicted to adult coloring books as we are you might like the newest addition to the "A.C.B." section.

We're thrilled to now have the set of 72 Prismacolor colored pencils in stock.

With more than 75 titles of adult coloring books to choose from (and now) five different sets of Prismacolor colored pencils....let the coloring fun begin.

Show and Tell; Kaylee Ann; Tooled Leather; Bread N Butter; coloring books; Missouri Star templates

Lillian (from AR) stopped by yesterday.  It was her first time visiting the shop.  Little did she know what she was in for!

Lillian shared these adorable pouches she recently made (she loves zippers) so, we had to take pictures of them.

Thanks, Lillian for putting up with us yesterday and be sure to come back when you're in our neck of the woods.

can you see the fabric inside?

Pat was unable to make it to the 'Secret Sibling" banquet last Saturday.  As luck would have it, her s/s (Cathy) stopped by yesterday while Pat was here.

Pat's January, February and March gifts were enthusiastically received!

Our youngest shopper ever, Kaylee Ann, stopped by for a visit yesterday.

We were honored Kaylee spent some of her birthday (four months old) with us.

Kaylee came to the shop for the first time at the tender age of 11 days old.  My, how's she's grown.

Pat couldn't resist holding Miss Kaylee for awhile (who am I kidding, we all held her) before it was time to leave.

We particularly loved Kaylee's bib.  It said, "I run this place".  How cute is that!

Sister Power:  Diane Annette and Yvonne stopped by yesterday.  These two sisters are a delight to be around (and they really know how to have fun).

Yvonne brought a blue jean quilt she's been working on using some of her son's old jeans.

When she's finished, Yvonne will give it to one of her son's children.....how precious is that.

Thanks, Yvonne for sharing this family heirloom with us.  We know it will bring years of comfort and joy to the recipient.

Sheila stopped by with a quilt her daughter recently made.  This quilt is very special.

Her daughter made it for a nephew (Sheila's grandson) who is two years old.

We particularly love this quilt.  It depicts each day of Creation.

I hope you can see each day and the wording underneath.  I tried to get good pictures but, I'm no photographer!

Thanks, Sheila (and your daughter) for sharing such a special quilt with us.

The big brown truck left four new bolts of "Tooled Leather" by Sara Khammash this week.  We now have five colors of this print:  black, red, denim, leather and buckskin.

These prints are located in the "Ride 'Em Cowboy" section of the shop.

We're thrilled to finally receive the pre-cuts of "Bread 'N Butter" by American Jane for Moda.

If you're a 1930's fan, you'll love these.  We have the fat quarter bundles, layer cakes, jelly rolls, charm packs and mini-charms of this adorable collection.

We were blessed with seven new adult coloring books this week (five were delivered yesterday).

With the exception of "Enchanted Forest", these are more whimsical than the other coloring books we have.

My favorites are "Boho Paisley" and "Whimsical Designs"....each of which grew legs and walked to the house to be added to my adult coloring book collection!

Have you seen the "Sashed Half Hexagon" tutorial by Jenny Doan on You Tube?  I'm in love with this tutorial!  The end result looks like a stained glass window.

We received the "Large Half Hexagon" templates last week and received more Missouri Star Quilt Company templates this week.  YIPPEE!!!

We now have the Small Half Hexagon; Circle Magic; Small Wedge, Large Wedge, Layer Cake Dresden Plate; Large Tumbler and....I can't remember the name of the one that looks like a kite.....???  OOPS!!
I'm in love with the half hexagon templates.  I've been cutting half hexies since the big one got here last week.

We're expanding our Missouri Star Quilt Company templates section so, if you need one we don't have, just let me know.

a new gizmo; apron patterns; fabric; Frivols; Block magazine; Prismacolor pencils; Secret Sibling banquet

A lot has happened in the shop this week. Grab a cup of coffee (or tea) and get comfy. This is a long post.

Two new adult coloring books arrived:  "Opulent Bazaar" and "Cotton+Steel". Both are full of nifty things to color!
the latest additions to our coloring book section

If you've known me for more than five minutes, you know I love gizmos and gadgets.  Our latest gizmo to arrive is the large half hexagon template from Missouri Star Quilt Company.

It's designed to use with layer cake pieces but, any 10" square will work.

Ask for a demo the next time you're here.  We'll be happy to show you how the latest addition to my gizmo collection, I mean the shop's ever expanding gizmo collection works.

One of our customers asked if we had any apron patterns.  We didn't.....but we do now!

The apron patterns pictured below are for every skill level, from the beginning sewer to the advanced seamstress.

Some even include patterns for little people while "The Flirty Dozen" offers 12 different combinations from one pattern.

Apparently, the vicious rumor of a "Sundance Trail" fabric shortage is partially true.  Some of these prints have already been discontinued while others are no longer in print.

Thank goodness we received five bolts of this super yummy collection this week before it sold out (or were discontinued).  We also received some of this collection last week but, it has been very popular.

Be warned:  if you are a cowboy, know a cowboy, want to be a cowboy or were a cowboy in a previous life, please don't wait too long to get any of these prints.

I can't be responsible for your actions when we sell out and can't re-order.  You've been warned.

Calling all cows (and those who love them): Continuing with the cowboy/western theme, we received another bolt of "Rawhide" this week.

Last week's print was on tan, this week's new arrival looks like a Holstein cow.

The legal stuff:  I am in no way slamming or defaming Holstein cows nor do I mean any ill will toward Holstein cows.  I love Holstein cows.....medium well with a baked potato!

"Frivols" #8 came in this week.  This month's collection is "Bread N Butter" by American Jane for Moda.

Each tin contains (42) 7"x7" squares, a block pattern, a quilt pattern and a surprise.

What is this month's Frivols surprise?  My lips are sealed.  I'll never tell (except to say it's super cute and you're gonna love it).

The latest issue of "Block" magazine is now in stock. YIPPEE!!

We decided to expand our selection of colored pencils (for those of us addicted to coloring).

We're thrilled to offer all three sets of "Prismacolor" colored pencils (12, 24 and 36).

These pencils are like nothing you've ever used. The colors blend fantastically and literally glide onto the paper.  I'm not kidding.

Before anyone asks:  yes, I bought a set for myself. They're super yummy but I'll share them so you can see how fantastic they are (each set comes in it's own tin for easy storage).

Everyone knows Sweetness cuts fabric faster than I do. The man is a machine.  He's super fast.  I'm not kidding.

When he isn't here, you get stuck with me cutting your fabric.  I'm slow.  Much slower than Sweetness.

If other people are in front of you (and Sweetness isn't here), you may decide to hold your fabric while waiting your turn.  That was sorta kinda the case yesterday.

I originally thought Dorothy (left) was 'stash hugging' the prints she wanted but later learned she was really holding them (literally) for Doris (right)..... while slow poke me was cutting other customer's fabric.

What a gal!  Thanks, Dorothy for making sure Doris got the prints she wanted!

Dorothy decided to take a break from quilting for a while and has been crocheting prayer shawls.

She recently made this purple shawl for Kay and gave it to her yesterday (purple is Kay's favorite color).

Great job, Dorothy.  Kay loved it.

Last night was the 'reveal party' for this round of "Secret Siblings".  Not everyone could attend but, those who did had a great time.

We had a wonderful meal (thanks, Sweetness for the fabulous lasagna), exchanged gifts for March and 'revealed' our identities.

A good time was had by all!
