Labor Day week of fun and festivities!

We love "Show and Tell".  We never know what our customers will bring in.  It's exciting to hear the story behind the project being shared and seeing the project in person!

Janet B. brought in the "Dresden Flowers" quilt she's been working on.  We love the prints she used for this stunning quilt.  Super yummy!

Should Janet get to feeling benevolent, I told her (several times) that my birthday is in May!

Janet's current project is a "Dresden Plate" quilt using 1930's prints.  Yummy!

Maybe Janet will give me this one as a birthday present when she's finished????  Oh, Janet......

Nancy O. brought in this quilt she made for her father's caregiver.  We love the "Best. Day. Ever" prints Nancy used.  The colors are so bright and vibrant.  It makes me smile just looking at it!

Thanks, Nancy for sharing your creation with us.  We know your step sister will love it!

Kay stopped by a couple of times this week.  She brought in the jammies she recently made for herself and her husband.

Kay liked two different colors of flannel so, she used both for her jams.  The hubs wanted a moose print for his so, that's what he got!

Great job, Kay!  We love both jammies!

One of the projects Dorothy worked on this week is this Dresden Plate block.  Dorothy hand pieced this block but hasn't decided what to use for the centers.

We love the Mary Engelbreit prints Dorothy used and can't wait to see the finished project!

Flannel seems to be the textile of choice these days! Ginger brought in this adorable flannel quilt she made for a family friend.

We petted this quilt more than once before she left! We love the piano key borders Ginger used in the middle of each border.  How cute is that!

Thanks, Ginger for bringing this in.  We love it!

We had 'open sew' this week for anyone who wanted to bring in something to work on.  It didn't have to be a quilting project....any UFO or PIGS were fine by us!

Dorothy and Shawn worked on different projects this week.  Dorothy sewed, Shawn knitted (Wednesday).

Later in the day, Kay stopped by to do some coloring in one of her many adult coloring books!

I love the stained glass look of "Sashed Half Hexagons" by Jenny Doan.

We have the templates to make them, I just had to decide which layer cake to use.  I finally decided on "The Potting Shed" by Holly Taylor.

After a few mistakes (had to watch the video again) I was off and running!

I've gotten three blocks done so far and am working feverishly getting the rest of them finished.

I was so proud of myself, I had to hang them up in the shop!
my first "Sashed Half Hexagon" attempt

a little wonky (not square) but the fabric is really pretty!

second attempt at "SHH" is much better!

Red or White or Blue Sale. Happy Birthday, USA!

Janet recently brought in this fabulous quilt she made as a wedding present.

Janet used all Kansas Troubles prints for this quilt then made throw pillows from the scraps.

The happy couple stopped by after receiving this at their shower.  They are getting married in August!

Thanks, Janet for sharing this gorgeous quilt with us. We love it and know the happy couple already does!

Dorothy has made several "Fold N Stitch Wreaths" (which we love).  She brought this one in last week to show us.

We love these so much we finally have the patterns in stock.

We've received a slew of new stuff the past couple of weeks.

I'm over the moon about the new Aurifil thread sets we got in, especially Jenny Doan's "Heritage" collection.

Each thread set has 12 big spools (1,422 yards per spool) of 50 weight Egyptian Cotton thread.
Hoffman Challenge, Jenny Doan, Sunshine and Refresh thread sets

We also received a bunch of new books.  I'm not sure which one I like the best:  "Turning Ten" by Tricia Cribb; "Pre-Cut Quilts"; "Perfect Quilts for Pre-Cut Fabrics"; and Moda All-Stars "All in a Row".

four new books we received this week

We also received a handy reference book called "Quilter's Precut Companion" which is full of nifty information and a new adult coloring book.

Pat has a round kitchen table.  She's wanted to make a new table topper for it but couldn't find a pattern she liked.

One of our customers came in shopping for fabric for a topper she wanted to make and showed us the pattern. Pat almost fainted!  It would be perfect for Pat's kitchen table.

We now have "Spirals" pattern in stock as well as "Fold N Stitch Blooms"and "Fold N Stitch Wreath" patterns.
three new patterns we received this week

All of my sewing thread is in a drawer.  I dig through it to find the color I need but, it's a disaster area.

Loose thread gets wound around other spools, it gets entangled with other stuff in the drawer (bobbins, pins, scissors), like I said, it's a disaster area.

I now have hope of never dealing with that again. We received "Auircases" this week.  They hold 12 big spools of Aurifil and is clear so you can see what's inside!  YIPPEE!!!

Frivols #12 came in last week.  This one is "Blue Barn" by Laundry Basket Quilts and is the last Frivols of this series.

I squealed like a little girl when we opened boxes the big brown truck dropped off......super yummy bolts of "Outdoor Adventures" by Quilting Treasures.

The panel has super cute 'outdoor' and 'camping' motifs and slogans while the prints depict super cute outdoor activities!

These are perfect for the 'outdoor' person in your life!

We now have 6" squares of Bosal In-R-Form fusible interfacing.  These are great when making "Fold N Stitch Blooms" or "Fold N Stitch Wreaths".

"Row by Row" has started off with a bang this year. Carol made this tote for the shop which uses four Row by Row license plates.

We asked Carol to use this year's and last year's shop license plates plus two we collected during last year's "row by row".

We now have the patterns for this adorable tote in the shop.

Starting last Thursday, anyone wearing red and white and blue to the shop received a free fat quarter of their choice.

We hope everyone enjoys their free fabric, thanks for playing along with the crazy blond chick!

Happy Birthday, USA!
