Sandy's double Jelly Roll 1600-- 3200 total inches!

My friend Sandy in Illinois (who made 11 Jelly Roll 1600 quilts for her grand-kiddos for Christmas presents) just finished her first double Jelly Roll 1600 quilt.  Yes, she used two Moda Marbles jelly rolls.  She said it was very interesting sewing that many strips together all at the same time, 3200 total inches.  YIKES!  Yes, she cut them all in half before starting.  Yes, it's very long.  Yes, she says she'll NEVER do it again! Yes, I'm very proud of her.

It measures 64"x 98".  She's thinking about whacking some of the length off and making pillow shams out of the excess!

Sweetness really likes the lines going horizontally.  I told him I refuse to make a double Jelly Roll 1600 quilt but would be more than happy to show him how to do it himself!

See you Saturday,

  1. The worst of it was finishing up with the end close to 4 inches from the floor on a full-size bed! I'd love to hear any suggestions for "adjusting" that particular outcome! There may be two shams to go with it from the excess, but would love to have it come out a reasonable length. The width was perfect!! Any ideas? Otherwise, LOVE the marbles!
